Plan for Ensuring Access to Federal Student Loans
As part of its continued commitment to make sure students have access to federal student loans in the coming academic year, the Administration today announced a four-part plan designed to improve the functioning of the student loan marketplace and provide liquidity and stability in the near term to ensure that all qualified students have access to federally insured loans for the coming school year.05.20.08

Report on Smaller Learning Communities
When it comes to school size, smaller is not always better. A new study released by ED indicates that while there may be less school violence, more student participation in extracurricular activities and a higher percentage of students planning to attend college, there also is a challenge in recruiting experienced math and science teachers and providing rigorous courses for talented students.05.07.08
